Minahasa surnames : ウィキペディア英語版 | Minahasa surnames
The people of the Minahasa tribe, in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, are known by their family names, called "fam" locally. This is an abbreviation of “family name” used behind one's first name. Another explanation for the word "fam" is as follows: The Dutch frequently have a family name with "van" (like van den Broek, van Eersel, van Gogh). One asks for a family name in the Minahasa by questioning: "Apa ngana pe 'van'." - "What is your 'van'.", where eventually 'van' became 'fam'. Surnames are taken from one's father. Below is a list of Minahasa surnames: ==A== Abas - Abuthan - Adam - Agou - Akai - Aling - - Alouw - Alui - Amoi - Andu - Andries - Anes - Angkouw - Anis - Antou - Ante - Arina - Assa - Awondatu - Aw Bangkang - Batas - Bella - Besouw - Bolang - Bolung - Bororing - Boyoh - Buyung - Batubuaya
